Hatrans Logistics, a logistics service provider with roots in Lodz, and Contargo, the owner and co-owner of 24 intermodal (transshipment) terminals throughout Europe, have established a new so-called special purpose vehicle. Its goal is to launch a multimodal terminal (serving trains) in the industrial Teofilow district of Lodz. It is to serve, among other things, the expert of Polish food in the eastern and western directions.
Contargo Hatrans Lodz is a company that wants to build a new terminal in industrial Teofilow. It was established by Hatrans Logistics (known in past years for launching trains to China, attempting to build a terminal to serve them in Olechów and opening an office in Chengdu, China) and - its partner - Contargo. This, in turn, is the owner and co-owner of 24 terminals in Europe.
The goal of Contargo Hatrans Lodz is to build a terminal in the vicinity of the S-14 route, which will be included in the network of such facilities of the Contargo Group, located in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Germany. In addition, the Lodz terminal will operate regular services to Polish seaports.
Contargo Hatrans Lodz wants to base its business on, among other things, the export of Polish food (in particular, processors from our province) to both the East and the West.
The new terminal will be adapted for the storage of refrigerated containers, and the loading of goods requiring temperature control will be handled by a cold storage facility operating adjacent to the terminal. In connection with the planned investment, the new company has applied for EU funding, in a competition organized by the Marshal's Office in Lodz.
